Motorway and railway connection between Denmark and Sweden with a bridge, tunnel and an artificial island in the transition section.

The Øresund Tunnel is the largest monolithically constructed tunnel in the world. During the realisation of this project, PERI has fulfilled our expectations. Even the tight schedule wasn´t a problem, neither was compliance with the strict dimensional tolerances during the construction. PERI has undoubtedly kept its promises with regard to performance and technical knowledge.
PERI solution
- two stationary hydraulic assembly lines for the formwork units in use (each had one base, two outside and five tunnel forms, four guide girders, various temporary foundations and two stopends)
- utilisation of the cantilever launching method for construction
- planning, fabrication and assembly of the forming machines in just 8 months
